Hey all.. Trying to get some help picking up a bike.. I haven't ridden since I was 15.. 23 now.. and back then I just had some crap KMart bike.

So I'm lookin to do mostly street stuff, a little bit of parks maybe.. I want to be free to do whatever I feel liek though - so I dont want a bike that is too specialized / limited - eg, I want at least some brake(s) for the convenience, I want pegs so i  can use em if i feel like it, I want a bike that can handle a bit of abuse and be thrown around a bit if i feel like that..etc  but yeah, mostly will be on street/urban settings.

I am quite tall, 6'2 so I'm wondering if a standard sized bike will be comfortable/easy enough to use?

looking to spend I guess 400-450, probably buy a complete bike for starters, but i like upgrading/customising things so dont mind either way, just want to get riding asap even if i need to change some things over/refine them in a month or something.. but then I guess at the same time I'd like to have it setup reasonably right from the start so i can enjoy it straight away..

anyway yeah.. street, tall guy, $400-$450, could stretch up to 600 if need be .. that's about it.

Thanks!

hey mate! a good place to start would be with a we the people i think. they come with bikes in the price range your looking at with fair good parts (i.e. sealed 3 piece cranks, breaks, good seat, stem, bars combo and light). i'm 6'3" near 6'4" and i run a 21" top tube so that would be your best bet. so yeah, hit up your local shop and see if they can tell you more about them we the people's =)

fit bikes do some rather nice completes as do 2 hip and fbm.  your price point may be a little low though as you are going to need a fairly stout bike to take street abuse being delivered by a rather large rider. seven hundred to a grand depending on which brand you choose. my last bike cost me around 3k.

Ya will probably get a 2009 bike for half the 2010 price as they want to get rid of old stock so now is probably the time to act
