Im thinking of buildin a bike for flatland and dirt use, ive been looking at this new brand called "Inertia". The only place i can find this brand is on www.flatlandfuel.com and the price is very reasonable for the model "Unit Premium" so thats the model im most interested in.
So my question to you guys is, has anyone got this brand or seen them in australia, and if so are they strong?
Cheers, Lachie
Inertia is a well proven flatland company. Do you intend to ride mostly flatland or mostly dirt/street? I wouldnt really recommend riding one for dirt use. Flatland bikes arnt really designed for that sort of force nor are the geometry suited to dirt riding.
Well thats the thing, i ride both styles, i ride a few dirt parks and i want to ride flatland but not like those pros, i just want to be able to do whiplashes and the more simple type stuff.
Also im looking at a GT performer, what are your views on that? what style do you think i should ride on it? They list it as a freestyle bmx but i dont see how freestyle is different from street or dirt..?
Freestyle is a mix of all styles of riding. Street, park, vert and dirt. Flatland is the only type of riding that generally requires a few differences in a bmx. Id recommend going for a freestyle bike more so than a flatland bike if your just beginning and trying all types of riding. Flatland takes a lot of time and effort, if you still are in to it after a few months id then look at buying a specific flatland bike. To start when you get your bike keep both brakes on(regardless of what everyone else tells you to do!) and keep your seat nice and high so your bike is set up for any riding you throw at it then see what you think after you've been at it for a little while.
Most complete bikes nowadays are good provided you stay with a well known brand. Id opt for any one that has front and rear brakes and spend as much as your budget allows.
Thanks mitch your a bloody rippa
Ive made up my mind and im probably gonna get a GT performer 2009 (550 bucks or so) im pretty stoked about it.
