Heavy Metal Heroes videos posted

Posted 04-11-2008 01:57pm [Updated]

As you can see I've posted up some of the old HMH videos from back in the day..well..3 years ago. I made about 47 of them over the years but I've only posted the pro events for now. If you have a fav HMH vid from the expert and beginner classes let me know and I'll put it up.

Now it's your turn to post some videos, remember they don't need to be brilliant as long as their yours. Wink

If you've already posted a video on Youtube or Vimeo you can always make a blog post in your profile and embed the video there using the little embed video icon Video icon or just link to it.

FBMX image search with Searchme

Posted 20-07-2008 10:08am [Updated]

Want an easy way to search freestyle bmx images from around the web?
Try a visual search at searchme.com

Just click on the "images" button then punch in a search term like tailwhip and Searchme will let you scroll through the resulting images.

Yes it works for porn too. Tounge out

Anyone know of a better visual search engine like this one?

Added Freecaster video embedding

Posted 03-07-2008 06:50pm [Updated]

You can now embed Freecaster TV videos into the site.

Like so -

Finally the site is back up on a more permanent basis so...ah...yeah...wooo and so forth Laugh Out Loud

State of the (website) address

Posted 01-06-2008 06:52pm [Updated]

Sorry guys, the site will still go down after a couple of days as I'm still relatively destitute (I lost $3000 when a client went AWOL Crying ). I have two largish websites on the books over the next 2 months so that should give me plenty of spare cash to get the site up and running again.

In the mean time you can practise your vowels.

Now with added mp3s

Posted 03-05-2008 03:10pm

You will now find a mp3s section on your profile page where you can upload mp3s that will play under "Listening to" or you can embed them anywhere you see the little music icon Mp3 icons

Javascript required to hear this mp3

Ta da!

To embed an mp3 from this site, go to the mp3s section of your profile (or anyone's profile) and copy the link for the file you want to embed.

You can embed mp3 files from other sites as well, you just need to know the full link to the mp3 file.

You can also download the mp3 file by clicking on the download arrow next to the volume or on the arrow in the playlist.

Now, because I'm legally obliged to say it - "Don't upload copyright materials" Wink

Site will be down in a couple of days

Posted 18-04-2008 09:13am

Just heads up, the site will be down in 2 maybe 3 days. I only had 1Gb of bandwidth to play with and I've already gone through about 750Mb since the site reopened so it won't last much longer.

Normally the site runs on about 60Gb a month but I down graded last year after the site shut down and I need about $500 to upgrade again...which I don't have.

Look on the bright side, the site will be back up for about 4 days in May yeeeah! Laugh Out Loud

Minor updates and tweaks

Posted 17-04-2008 06:33pm

Made a few minor tweaks to the site today -

  • The navigation in your profile pages should now show you how many blog posts, photos, videos, and messages you have.
  • When you get a private message you will now see a light blue bar appear at the top of your page telling you that you have received a message.
  • Added a help video about using the shortcuts panel with favs, subscribing and messaging
  • Fixed video buffering issue so the videos should tell you how much has downloaded now. Also added a watermark that matches the photos
  • Removed the "Display only in my profile" option from bike checks (only necessary for photos and videos really)
  • Removed the ability to change your profile name (so make sure you sign up with the correct name to start with) because changing your name just orphans anything you've already submitted.
  • Rearranged the home page a little.

I think thats it. Cool

Welcome!

Posted 15-04-2008 12:26pm [Updated]

Welcome to the all new freestyle BMX website!

After 6 months of downtime the site is back in full force and hopefully you'll find it's a major improvement on all previous versions.

Unfortunately Beta testing didn't quite work out as planned because everyone insists on using hotmail emails and hotmail doesn't like it when you try to send them 100 emails at once. Out of the 50 that did send out most of them bounced back with mailbox unavailable. Crying

So bugger testing, lets just hope everything works aye?

I did try to sent out notification to everyone that added their email on the home page but that didn't work either so if your reading this, get the word out. Smile

You can now add/modify/delete content and comments without having to wait for me to approve it. The only exception is videos as I have to encode them in FLASH, grab the thumbnail resize etc. Submitted videos should be up within 10 minutes no longer than 24hrs.

Be sure to send me your feedback and suggestions via email, contact page or you can message me by clicking that send PM button on the right.

Check the help page every now and then as I'll add more helpful tips.

I think that's it for now, thanks go out to all of you for your previous and on going support, this site wouldn't even exist if it wasn't for you guys, have fun and enjoy the new site. Cool

So for the 2 people that were wondering what I've been upto for the last 6 months since the site was shut down, behold my almost finished office/bedroom/home theatre.

My room now

My room now

From about October 2007 though to February 2008 I spent most of my waking hours renovating my sanctuary, taking it from kitsch to ultra modern, well moderner anyway.

Some of you may remember the computer rendering I posted on the forums just before the site was shut down, this is roughly the design I was going for -

Computer rendering two

I think I've come pretty close so far. :music:

About me

Well what can I say, I'm the owner of this website which I started back around 1999 with my brother and his mates who were local riders at Browns Plains.

I haven't actually ridden a bike since about '97 but I practically lived on my bike up until that point and I like to stay involved however I can. Apart from running this site, I was also the treasurer for the BBSAI from it's inception in 2002 to my departure in September 2006 following funding approval to officially save Beenleigh Bike park from becoming a shopping center.

I'm currently a full time web designer, I loves me some music and some movies, I even have my very own Hi-def home theatre to keep me entertained when I'm not on the computer.

So there you go, if you've got any questions or if you have any trouble working something out on this site contact me.
